Buckwheat can be cooked in different ways, but the easiest method is probably to cook it like rice, simmering it with water in a tightly closed pan over a very low heat. It cooks a little quicker than rice, taking about 15 minutes. Before cooking, it is generally best to give the buckwheat a good rinse to remove any dust.
Ingredients
1 cup of buckwheat
1.5 cups of water
Salt
Rinse the buckwheat, put it in a pan with the water and bring to the boil. Add some salt, stir once and reduce the heat to a simmer, cover the pan and leave until the grain has absorbed all the water.
