There were a load of 'Love' sculptures all round the city this time. This one is in one of the many squares in the old city centre. The next picture is the view from our hotel window. We stayed at the Americano and at the top of this hill is Panoramico o Sol restaurant, which inspired my vegetarian paella recipe. And look at these crazy policemen. I'd like a shot on one of those wheely things. |

Man asleep in front of a tiled wall...if he's vegetarian and looks for recipes on the internet, he might come across this photo one day. The kids are finding out all about Castelo de Sao Jorge from an entertaining guide. I had a job like that once in a Scottish castle. I really enjoyed it. From the hill on the way up to the castle you get some good views over the roofs. And we were lucky enough to be entertained with some pleasant guitar music. |

And look, there's a palm tree growing out of the top of the railway station. Isn't that strange? On the left is one of the metro stations. They are all different in theme and style. We thought this one looked like the inside of a space ship. |

The three pictures above are of metro station walls. We liked travelling around by metro. |

It was carnival time during our visit and we snapped these guys parading through Baixa, a cobbled and pedestrianised area near the sea. The cobbles are interesting in Lisbon. Look at the wavy lines and swirls in these squares. The street in the middle picture below is Marques de Pombal Street, and that's him at the top of the plinth. The next street is somewhere up the hill towards the castle. I just liked the picture. |
