These pictures are from Den helder, Den Hague and Amsterdam, in that order...
These first pictures above and below are of the North Sea coast at Den Helder. This was originally dune-land but the dunes have been smoothed out and covered with asphalt and planted with grass to make an effective defence gainst storms for the town behind. I was so impressed by the coast line, I didn't get round to taking any pictures of the town!
After Den Helder, we went to Den Haag and there I did take some pictures around town. I liked this church.
I took photos from every angle. The sculpture below was just one of many along the main street.
Returning to Amsterdam, we saw this power station at Sloterdijk railway station. These iron tree stumps are there too. I've passed above them on the train many times over the past few years and I always thought they were made of concrete, but they're not.
This big chess board is just south of the city centre and it's always busy.
