Sveta often makes this salad in winter when there aren't so many fresh vegetables around. I haven't given very exact quantities as it's not very important. Just throw everything together and add a bit more cream, salt or pepper as you think necessary. It's an easy recipe, although you need a bit of elbow to grate the cabbage (Sveta usually asks me to do it). If you like this dish and start making it often, it's probably best to alternate the hand you use for grating or you'll end up like a professional tennis player with one big muscly arm and one wee skinny arm.
About half of a small white cabbage
1 small tub of sour cream (or greek-style yoghurt)
A few crushed black peppercorns
Salt
Grate the cabbage then mix in some sour cream and salt and pepper. Serve as a side salad or as a snack with bread and butter.
