This is a Russian salad, on every restaurant menu in the ex-Soviet Union, even though 'domashny' means 'home-made'. We eat it at home, usually with boiled or fried potatoes, about once a week in summer. The smell of the fresh dill alone, when you're chopping it up, makes this salad worth making.
Ingredients
3 or 4 tomatoes
2 cucumbers
A few sprigs of fresh dill
A couple of spring onions
1 tablespoon of sour cream
A pinch of salt
Chop everything up and mix it together with the sour cream and salt. And there you have it -simple but effective.
If you can't get a hold of sour-cream, try oil or mayonnaise, but the salad loses its magic. I'm not sure about fresh cream - you could try it. more salad recipes
