Fried courgette (zucchini) salad

Maybe this is a salad, maybe it's a hot snack. I don't know. I discovered it on the salad counter in a self-service cafe and the dish was cold. When I made it at home, I planned to serve it the next day as part of a cold-buffet for a bunch of friends who were coming to visit. I only served half of it because Sveta and I ate the other half as it came out of the frying pan. I therefore leave it up to you to decide how you're going to serve it. It tastes good both ways.

You could try adding some spice to the flour mixture. Chilli would be good, or perhaps ground cumin.

Ingredients

Courgettes
1 or 2 dessertspoons of flour
Olive oil
Salt

Mix the flour and salt together and spread or sprinkle the mixture on a small plate. Slice the courgettes into pieces between one and two centimetres thick. If the courgettes are thick, cut them into circles, but if they're small thin ones it might be better to slice them length-wise or at least diagonally. Put some oil in a frying pan and when it's hot, dust the courgette pieces in flour and fry for a few minutes on each side on a medium heat.
