Fluffy cheese balls

I wanted to call these hairy cheese balls, but Sveta said fluffy cheese balls was a better name. This is a quick recipe; no cooking required and not much preparation except a bit of chopping and mixing. It would be a good recipe for kids to get involved in - I'm sure kids would enjoy rolling the cheese into balls, but I don't know if the end result would appeal to the tastes of many kids, as it contains garlic and dill. It's green, too.

Fluffy cheese balls are good for picnics or buffets and they can be kept in the fridge for a couple of days until needed. They travel well, too and don't make much mess if dropped on the floor. You can also eat them with your fingers.

Ingredients

1 cup of cottage cheese
1 cup of grated mature cheese
A bunch of fresh dill
1 or 2 cloves of garlic
A couple of teaspoons of yoghurt or mayonnaise
Salt

Chop the garlic finely and mix with the cheese and salt. Add a little yoghurt or mayonnaise to bind the ingredients into a stiff paste. Chop the dill and then take pieces of the cheese paste (about a heaped-teaspoon-sized) and form into small balls and roll them around in chopped dill until they are well coated and become hairy cheese balls.

We served cheese balls with sliced tomatoes, black olives and pieces of black bread and the combination not only tasted great but looked very impressive as well.
